This series of works were born after a meditation program I decided to take part in, a progression course that was divided into several visualisation exercises, of which one of them consisted in talking to our inner child. The exercise was to imagine standing in front of the child version of ourselves and asking questions like “what would this child say to you if he/she saw you as the adult you have become?”, and others. I think the goal of the meditation was to leave us with the reflection of whether we are true to what that child wanted to be when he/she grew up. This was an exercise that meant a lot personally, and it made me rethink many attitudes I had towards my life. It gave me a feeling of rebirth that is difficult to explain, so I decided to illustrate it. I have called it Tamashii, which is what the Japanese call the soul because, after this process, I believe that if the soul had a form,
it would be one of a child.
